    Health Sector: Tafaol operates 6 medical centers under the name of MASHAEL MEDICAL GROUP in the most poverty-stricken areas in Central & West Bekaa. Three of these centers focus on primary care health Network. The group in partnership with donors, UN agencies & INGO’s provides more than 100,000 services annually to beneficiaries and vulnerable people. These services include, but not limited to: Mental and Health Psycho-Social Support Services (MHPSS), Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRHR), Nutrition, awareness sessions for breastfeeding and lactating women, vaccination, screening to non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

    PRIMARY HEALTHCARE CENTER

    The Mashael Primary Healthcare Unit is part of the Lebanese National Primary Healthcare Network where, together in partnership with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health and various international humanitarian organizations as well as with the UN Agencies & World Health Organization, seeks to provide primary healthcare services to be an accessible, attainable, affordable, reliable, continuous and high quality of primary healthcare services leaving no one behind. The services of the Primary Healthcare Unit stem from the healthcare need assessment of the people in the catchment area where the Center operates. The PHC Unit does its services by focusing on the essentials of the pillars of public health criteria through:

    • Early detection and prevention of diseases through vaccinations and assessments of non-communicable diseases, malnutrition, and mental health issues, in addition to patient education awareness campaigns and in-school health visits.
    • Providing treatment according to evidence-based international medical guidelines
    • Proper follow-up through on personalized plans of care

    • Pediatric Clinic and Vaccination: General Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiologist, Pediatric Neurologist, Pediatric general surgeon, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Pediatric ENT
    • Obstetrics & Gynecology Services: Pap Smear, IUD insertions, and removal, Fetal Monitoring, Obstetric Ultrasound.
    • Family Medicine and Chronic Care: 12 Family medicine doctors to serve you every day. | Chronic Care: Cardiology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Gastro-enterology, Neurology.
    • Pharmacy Unit: Four Licensed Pharmacists who serve up to 500 patients daily.
    • Dental Unit: Six professionals, 10 Adult Dentists, two Pediatric Dentists, and one Endo-Dentist. Services provided are Check-up, Tooth Cleaning, tooth filing, extractions, root canal, and panoramic x-ray.
    • Ophthalmology Unit: Consultations, Chalazion removal, removal of foreign body, pupil dilatation, Tonometry (eye pressure), Dilatation and irrigation of lacrimal duct, Xanthelasma excision.
    • Nutrition Unit: Consultations, In-body tests, diet plan and follow-ups.
    • Laboratory Unit: Four Lab technicians and one Lab physician provide biochemistry and hormone tests.
    • Diagnostic Ultrasound Unit: Breast (uni or bilateral), Prostate, Thyroid, Testicles, Single abdominal organ (gallbladder, kidney, …), Joints (shoulder, elbow, knee…), Pelvic, Abdominal, Venous Doppler, Arterial Doppler, Arterial Doppler, Testicular Doppler, Renal Doppler, Cervical Doppler.
    • Physiotherapy Unit: Physiotherapy services for children and adults.
